Beating other 105 contestants from around the world at the world's beauty pageant held in Hainan, China's 23-year old Miss Zhang Zilin has emerged the winner to be crowned Miss World 2007, the first time a Chinese contestant has won this contest.
The first and second runner-up holder belongs are Miss Angola and Miss Mexico.
This is Miss World Organisation's 57th beauty contest, held on the southern island of Hainan.
Miss Zhang, at 1.82m, is the tallest contestant among all other Miss World beauty pageants. Before participating in the Miss World contest, she was a secretary from Beijing.
The victory was watched by more than two billion people from all over the world. A spokenwomen has voiced out that, "...beauty contest judges have finally opened their eyes to the beauty of Chinese women..."
Indeed, the World may have their eyes on Chinese women from then on...
