Jailbreak 4.3.1 iPhone Using Sn0wBreeze

iPhone 3GS

Jailbreaking Apple devices have become very common today as end-users are trying new ways to make full use of the electronic device that they purchase from Apple. To be honest, I have a iPhone 3GS since more than 1 year ago, but I never got down to jailbreaking it until recently, fearing that my warranty will be void.

Now that my 1-year warranty is up, I have decided to be adventurous and take this one step further - jailbreaking my iPhone! It probably sounds like nothing to those who have already done so, but to me and others who have never done it before, it feels like a risk.

Despite that iOS 4.3.2 has been released by Apple, my iPhone 3GS is still operating with iOS 4.3.1. I did a couple of research, including information from Redmond Pie website, it is recommended that users (including iPad or iPod) do not upgrade to the latest version if they want to maintain their keep their iPhone jailbroken.

(Here are the steps that I used to jailbreak my iPhone...)

Call US and Canda for Free - using Google

Google Voice Call

Still paying unnecessary telco charges to make phone calls? Well, things have changed (thanks to Google), and with the integration of Google Voice and Video Chat application onto GMail, they have made calling to United States and Canada for FREE!!!

This is unbelievable. In addition, calling to other countries in the world are achieved at reduced rate - here's a price comparison table if you are interested to know.

User will have to download the plugin and run the program off GMail. So, there is really nothing to install (apart from the browser plugin), which makes it so light-weight and user-friendly.

Indeed, this is an All-in-One solution to integrate telephony with our day-to-day email communication.

Docs.com

Docs Logo

The merger of the Twin Towers - Facebook and Microsoft took the stage to another level to launch an online version of Microsoft Office software - called Docs.com.

Similar to the Microsoft Office application that you use normally, this online version will allow users to create, edit and share Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents online, just like Google Docs. Built using Microsoft Office 2010 - Docs for Facebook allows users to work from just about anywhere with the familiar Office experience.

The collaboration between Facebook and Microsoft will enable them to take on the powerhouse - Google. Facebook will provide the social networking element whilst Microsoft enables the advanced word processing capabilities.

Currently, this service is only opened out to Facebook users - sadly for those without a Facebook account. The service is still currently in beta stage, though.

Snow Leopard - Mac OS X 10.6

Snow Leopard

When it comes to purchasing software for further upgrades, people start to think about how Microsoft did it. There will be a new version for upgrade every year, and if you don't upgrade, you feel like you are being left behind in the race.

In a business model, software companies pile more features each time on every upgrade. This resulted in a chunk of source codes that do not run well and on top of that, a bloated operating system that eats into your hard disk size capacity. Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista are such typical examples.

This year, Apple released a new operating system - Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Leopard, Mac OS X 10.5, was already a great operating system that is virus-free, nag-free and not copy-protected. The new version has a great hit - its price is only US$30!
