Site Server Upgrade

Posted in

Good news! Our site has just being moved to a brand new server, which is likely to serve our readers better. It costs me a bit more money, not as much as yamaha motorcycle prices, but I guess it will be worthwhile in the long run. This should improve the overall performance of the site.

Anyway, the reason for the move is because our site has encountered a bit of instability and downtime over the past few days, due to sudden influx of traffic, and therefore causing it to be inaccessible from some parts of the world (I knew this because I am able to perform VPN* tunnelling access from different regions, e.g. United States, United Kingdom and Singapore). For example, people in the United States are able to access our site, but not the people in Europe. This is kind of frustrating as I figured out that the Domain Nameserver happens to be the culprit.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused during the last 72 hours. We promise to ensure the quality of the performance to be maintained and improved.

* VPN is an acronym for Virtual Private Networking.
