Overall Open Source CMS Winner 2007 - DRUPAL

Posted in

Congratulations to Drupal - Overall Winner of Open Source CMS Award 2007 (Source from Packt Publishing). The result was announced yesterday, as the winner gets to bring home cash prize money of $5,000.

Last year's contest ended up a tie between Joomla and Drupal, but this year's award is absolutely one-sided. Drupal cast aside its competitors with its release of Drupal 6.x, which features new enhancements, such as OpenID Client support, enhanced localisation and improved caching mechanism.

Last but not least, we are proud to mention that NeoHide is powered by Drupal.

DO YOU THINK THAT WORDPRESS

DO YOU THINK THAT WORDPRESS IS A CMS OR JUST ANOTHER BLOGGING PLATFORM?

Sean - WordPress is not a Pure CMS

Hi Sean,

In response to your question, WordPress is basically a blogging platform. Many people have tried to transfor it to be used as a CMS and have been successful in doing so.

It is because of its simplicity that people adore using WordPress; there is nonetheless restrictions on WordPress to become a full-fledged CMS, without additional codings.

Therefore, if you are intending to expand your website to accomodate and use it as a CMS, then the best option is to avoid using WordPress - Drupal will do great!

Regards,
Keith
