New Free Web Hosting Site Emerged - QuotaLess

Posted in
The brand new service will go full operational starting on New Year's Day of 2007. Quotaless is a new Free web hosting service with a lot to offer. Currently, it is under beta testing to ensure everything goes right. The main web site and the forum has just started running not long ago. Despite under development, the site is open to new registration. The motto of the site is to provide members with Virtually Unlimited Storage and Quality Traffic Supply. Fair enough, upon activation of a new account, members are presented with 65GB of free storage and 65GB of bandwidth traffic. (Latest Update: Quotaless administrators announced that they will offer 2,147,483,647MB of free storage space and 2,147,483,647MB of bandwidth traffic.)

Registration is fairly straightforward. However, to ensure new registrants read the Terms and Conditions, the administrators have embedded special code within the Terms and Conditions which registrants have to figure out before able to proceed and register for a new account. Such a move is ingenious, forcing people to read the regulations.

QuotaLess does not have a simple history. The owner of this new site was also an ex-owner of another web hosting site, Ahplace.com. The old site was constantly targeted by hackers and prone to Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. The most recent case has seen one of the servers been hacked and all the data erased from the server.

With a brand new server, memberships are already starting to grow at a rapid rate even before January 1, 2007. Instead of the popular cPanel used by most web hosting services, QuotaLess has their very own LayeredPanel to administer the hosting. Usual features, such as phpMyAdmin and Applications Installers are available. However, more specialised tasks such as cron jobs are not available. In addition, current control panel allows users to add only one new domain (i.e. add-on domain). This feature might be improved in future, as according to the developer.

In general, signing up for the hosting service is pretty easy. There is no requirement, not even required to post in the forum. This is primarily because the hosting service relies on forced ads, which will appear on your web site. At the moment, there are no ads appearing. Nonetheless, this might be activated once the service goes on full force.

In spite of the cons, the prospect of QuotaLess might just be good enough to re-create another massive free web hosting service for the members, just like ahplace.com.

They now offer a lot more diskspace.

Since today, now they offer 2147483647MB, which is 2097151GB, according to my calculator. Anyways, AHPlace was just as good as QuotaLess is now, but sadly, my website was hosted on the hacked server and everything's gone, what's good is that I had backups of everything, except for the forums and image gallery. Anyways, Quotaless has just started, and from what I can see, it's the best web-host I've ever seen/been hosted at. Nice article, by the way.

Are you sure you've got that

Are you sure you've got that right?

I can confirm that.

Good promotion

Nice! i love it, you should keep it updated ;p

Ho Ho

I loved ahplace and I love quotaless. It's just the best hosting out there.
The thing I don't like about quotaless is that forced add :D

Great hosts

Well....after my stay at ahplace for at least 6 months...It is sad to see them go. They were the best host out there. Quotaless would be EVEN BETTER if they didn't have forced ads. But hey, VU Storage is pretty cool!

Best regards, bfblackjack

BEST

I really liked AHPlace and enjoyed every minute in the forum as well. For one thing, I like IPB. And for another the community was really active and helpful in many ways. I hope Quotaless remain for some more Years and outshine others.

Is there any javascript that can disable the banner ad?

It is quite possible that

It is quite possible that there might be a way to obscure the presence of the banner ad.

However, Otto, Administrator of Quotaless, might have thought someone could do that and probably disabled any possible action to remove banner ads.

I believe the banner ads are controlled by the Hosting Management control panel, and you will not be able to overwrite it.

I couldn't find their "hidden code" in AUP (

Content Required

Not sure what might be the exact reason for deleting your account. One main reason could be that you need some content on your site. You can't simply park you site and have little or no useful content.

I remembered they have stated this in their clause some time ago.
