Last Wednesday, Microsoft Windows PCs around the world were locked into a reboot loop after the anti-virus giant, McAfee, sent out a flawed routine update.
The purpose of the update was to kill a minor virus, but instead mistakenly classified a key Microsoft Windows operating file as a malicious program and have it deleted. This resulted in computers to shut down and go into an endless cycle of reboot.
Such a mistake has affected several large organisations, such as hospitals and police departments, as well as enterprise customers around the world.
