
From 109 world's most beautiful women who competed in this year's 58th Miss World pageant contest, the winner is none other than Kseniya Sukhinovia, Miss Russia - who is crowned Miss World for 2008. The ceremony took place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, the City of Gold.
The first runner up is Miss India Parvathay Omanakuttan and the second runner up Miss Trinidad and Tobago Gabriel Walcott. Two other finalists were from South Africa and Angola.
Over 2 billion TV audience were watching Kseniya Sukhinovia crowned by Zhang Zilin, last year's Miss World from China.

Some of the events that took place before the judging include travelling in the host country, South Africa, and taking part in some of the unglamorous events at the safari. This year's event focuses on song and dance.
Since the pageant contest began in 1951, it has been held in South Africa for eight times.

The final commenced with the style of African music and dance that lasted about 15 minutes, as the contestants appeared on the stage wearing their specially-designed dresses. The event then lasted about 2 hours, and ended with local school children carrying the representatives' country flags onto the stage, as Miss World 2008 is being crowned the winner for this year's pageant contest.
