New Update
My trip to the IT Show 2008 has been rather fruitful; both interesting and hilarious, which I will share some of them here. As the going says, pictures represents a million words and here you are.

On Saturday, at the start of the weekend, sees the crowd coming to a standstill at the Suntec City. No, it is not because there is no people, but rather there are far too many people around, such that the traffic could not flow. It took me something like 10 minutes to move a distance of 10 metres!

Anyway, I finally managed to get up to Level 3. Exhibitions like this today can never go without emcees. There have been several speakers around the entire exhibitions, some are professional and well-dressed whereas others are more rugged types.

If you look closely at the picture above (on the right), they do give out free popcorns too!

Coming up next, in order to promote product awareness, there are staffs carrying signboards and walking around the exhibition halls; even for Epson, a renown company (see picture, right).

However, that is not all. If you do make a printer purchase at some of the stalls, they do give away FREE Trolleys for you to bring home. It's definitely an ingenious prize to giveaway, especially printers are quite bulky.

Show girls have inevitably become a must in today's IT fairs. It it almost like a Formula One (F1) motor show, except that the racing cars are being replaced with geeky gadgets and electronic devices.

There are a couple more of these IT Show Girls, as what I would normally call them, lingering around the exhibition halls (particularly in Exhibition Hall Level 3, if you are interested to know where to find them).

Apart from these cool gadgets, people and signboards, I do find another rather interesting note that kept me amused.

Having being in the IT industry for quite some time and keeping up with international standards, one acronym that is rather distracting is the word - MP5 (see picture below).

I knew all along about MP3 and MP4 formats, but MP5 seems rather dubious. I had a conversation with the person-in-charge of the stall (more about the conversation can be found here). Eventually, I still don't buy his story. Well, does that mean there is some Tom, Dick or Harry can come up with MP6?

Well, so much about the IT Show 2008 on Saturday. It's just too crowded, even the exhibition was spanning over 300,000 square feet of area space, occupying 4 levels of the Exhibition Centre.

You can definitely find the satisfying looks in the faces of the people at the end of the day, despite the long queue for cabs at the taxi stand.

My wish list for next year is that IT Show 2009 will have a bigger area space. This year's show is simply too crowded.
