Diamond for Keep - Found by US Teenager

Posted in

Diamonds are women's best friends. But where can you find diamonds? And if you do find them, are you allowed to keep them? In fact, yes. There is the one and only one place in the world that allows visitors to keep gems that are found in the park; that is, the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas.

A teenage girl, Nicole Ruhter, 13, has noticed something shimmering that everyone else's missed - a tea-coloured 2.93-carat diamond. And for that, she gets to keep the prized gem for herself.

However, that was not the largest found by visitors. Previously, a 4-carat diamond, worth between US$15,000 an US$60,000, was also found by visitors at the same park.
