30 Nanometres NAND Chip Developed by Samsung

Posted in

Last week, Samsung Electronics Co. revealed that it has developed a much more advanced NAND-based flash memory chip that is capable of higher storage capacity within a small size.

According to Samsung, the world's largest computer memory chip maker unveiled the latest 64GB NAND flash memory chip that is based on finer process technology, capable of streamlining circuit elements to as small as only 30 nanometres wide (Note that, a human hair is about 80,000 nanometres wide).

Production is expected to commence in early 2009, and the demand is also expected to be increasing for Samsung over the next couple of months.
